The Apostolic Institute of Daemonopsychology was founded on a single, difficult truth: that the most profound spiritual afflictions of our time, particularly grandiose narcissism, cannot be managed by the sanitized tools of modern psychology. Our work is not for the comfortable, the content, or the institutional gatekeeper. It is a lifeline for those drowning in the "cult of self," for whom both secular therapy and conventional religion have failed.
Our paper, “The Externalization of Maladaptive Behaviors as Psycho-Spiritual Affliction,” was an attempt to build a bridge to the academic world. It presented a core component of our system, a pathway out of narcissism through theosis, in the language of a scholarly journal. We submitted it to Integratus, a leading journal of Catholic Psychology, knowing full well what the likely outcome would be.
The Predictable Judgment of the Academy
Today, we received that predictable judgment. The paper was rejected.
The reason given by the reviewer is, in its own way, a perfect validation of our work. They write:
"The main thesis that to treat narcisstic personality traits clients need to become Catholic is unethical and untenable."
This is not a critique of a flawed argument; it is the rejection of a premise they cannot comprehend. They have looked at a cure and called it a disease. They have judged a model of spiritual rescue by the standards of a secular system that lets souls drown. To call this thesis "unethical" is to reveal a worldview where the eternal salvation of a soul is less important than upholding the procedural norms of psychotherapy. To call it "untenable" is to admit that their framework has no category for what we are doing: pre-evangelization as a life-saving therapeutic intervention.
This rejection, like the Diocese’s administrative dismissal of Exorcise Your Mind, was not a substantive engagement with the work. It was the reflexive response of an established system protecting its boundaries from a radical, paradigm-shifting truth.
For the Souls We Serve, This is a Validation
For the audience this work is truly for—the seeker, the skeptic, the one trapped in the prison of their own ego—this rejection is not a red flag. It is a resounding confirmation.
It proves that what we are offering is not just another academic theory to be debated in sterile journals. It is a raw, potent, and transformative path that refuses to dilute its message to be palatable to a committee. Our mission is not to be published; our mission is to heal souls. The truths in our work are too urgent to be neutered for the sake of academic approval.
We did not write this paper to please reviewers. We wrote it for the person who has been told their narcissistic parent will never change. For the soul who knows, deep down, that their affliction is not just a cluster of traits, but a spiritual battle for their very soul. We are not proposing a "theory"; we are providing a map out of hell. The reviewer is correct that it is not psychotherapy. It is salvation.

We invite you to judge this work for yourself. The path to healing is not always comfortable or approved by the establishment. For the narcissist, it begins with the terrifying, saving realization that they are not God.
